In response to a recent hooch tragedy claiming over 30 lives in Bihar, Patna Police have decided to take stringent actions against individuals involved in the illicit liquor trade. The move is aimed at curbing illegal alcohol activities in the district.
Authorities plan to invoke the Crime Control Act (CCA) against offenders, especially those previously arrested and now out on bail for breaking prohibition laws. Superintendent of Police (Patna-East) has instructed station house officers to monitor these individuals closely.
This initiative aims to prevent further illegal alcohol sales and manufacturing, with additional measures including applying the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, which could lead to the seizure of offenders' assets.
