Court Consolidates Krishna Janmabhoomi Cases Amidst Controversy

The Allahabad High Court upheld its decision to consolidate all Hindu suits in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah dispute, rejecting a request from the Muslim side to recall the order. The Allahabad High Court has maintained its stance on consolidating all suits from the Hindu side in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah legal conflict. The court dismissed an appeal from the Muslim representation seeking reversal of the January ruling on consolidation.

Justice Mayank Kumar Jain delivered the rejection, explaining that it's within the court's purview to decide on consolidation, irrespective of the litigants' stances. The judge noted that merging related cases enhances judicial efficiency and aligns outcomes.

Tasneem Ahmadi, arguing for the Muslim side, contended that the consolidation limits their ability to individually contest the suits. However, the judgment pointed to the unchanged contestation rights despite the merger. The controversy revolves around the Shahi Idgah mosque's location, claimed to be the historic site of Lord Krishna's birthplace.
