Heightened security measures have been implemented at Kanpur airport following two threatening emails received by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), officials reported.

An FIR was lodged on Wednesday based on the CISF's application, as Police have initiated an investigation to trace the email sender. The content of the emails remains undisclosed.

Sections related to criminal intimidation from the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita are included in the FIR. Surveillance and screenings have been intensified as a precautionary measure.
