Five advocates were elevated to the position of additional judges in the Bombay High Court as announced by the law ministry on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their names on September 24, alongside a separate endorsement for four other advocates for the same court.

The newly appointed judges are Nivedita Prakash Mehta, Prafulla Surendrakumar Khubalkar, Ashwin Damodar Bhobe, Rohit Wasudeo Joshi, and Advait Mahendra Sethna. Additional judges generally serve for two years before being promoted to permanent judges.
