In a significant legal development, a high court in Islamabad has granted bail to Bushra Bibi, the spouse of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. The case revolves around the unauthorized sale of state gifts, as reported by Geo TV on Wednesday.
Both Khan and Bushra Bibi currently face multiple charges, among them the illegal sale of gifts valued at more than 140 million rupees ($501,000), which were received during Khan's 2018-2022 tenure. These gifts, stored in the state treasury known as the "Toshakhana," are at the core of the allegations.
It remains uncertain whether Bushra Bibi will be released from prison or if she will continue to be detained on other charges pending against her.
