A devastating fire in southwest Delhi's Kishangarh claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy while injuring four of his family members, police reported.

The incident took place early Wednesday morning in a residential building on Shani Bazar Road. Emergency services received a call at 3.22 am, and the Delhi Fire Service swiftly dispatched two fire tenders, which took two hours to contain the blaze.

Authorities initially suspected a gas cylinder leak to be the cause, but investigations revealed the cylinder was intact. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown. The victim, identified as Akash, did not survive, while his father, mother, and brothers are hospitalized, one in critical condition. An official investigation is ongoing.
