German Prosecutors Indict Suspected IS Member Planning Attack
German prosecutors have charged an Iraqi national named Mahmoud A with membership in a terrorist organization and planning an attack in Germany. Allegedly joining IS in 2016, he fought for them before travelling to Germany. Arrested in June, he was allegedly preparing a bomb attack.

German prosecutors have announced an indictment against a man accused of joining the Islamic State group in Iraq and plotting an attack in Germany.
The individual, identified under privacy laws as Mahmoud A, was apprehended in Esslingen in June, close to Stuttgart. Prosecutors have charged him at the Stuttgart state court with terrorist organization membership and preparing a violent act.
Mamhoud A allegedly became part of IS in May 2016, participating in combat and security duties until October 2017. After residing in Turkey, he arrived in Germany in October 2022, where he allegedly planned a bomb attack, having sought online instructions and procured components before his arrest.
