Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha revealed on Monday that security forces have developed a new strategy to tackle foreign terrorists aiming to disrupt peace in the Jammu region.
In an interview, Sinha pointed out that for the last 18 months, Pakistan has been attempting to destabilize the once-peaceful Jammu region by facilitating terrorist infiltration from areas like Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, and Samba. The Lieutenant Governor noted a troubling spike in terror-related incidents, including the martyrdom of soldiers, prompting a strategic overhaul by security forces and the Jammu and Kashmir police.
Efforts have been ramped up with enhanced police training and increased presence in affected zones. The Army and CRPF have also bolstered their deployments, particularly in higher-altitude locales, to counteract these threats. Despite the unique geographical and climatic challenges, Sinha expressed optimism about curbing terrorist activities in the coming months.
