Taluka Panchayat Member Attacked Over Alleged Affair in Gujarat

In a shocking incident in Gujarat's Tapi district, a taluka panchayat member named Urmila Gamit was attacked and had her hair cut off by a group of people over allegations of an affair, police said on Sunday.

The attack occurred on Saturday evening when Urmila was traveling home on a two-wheeler with her daughter. A woman and three men reportedly beat her with a hockey stick, resulting in a fractured arm and other injuries.

While one person has been arrested following the registration of an FIR, the attackers also robbed Urmila of her gold pendant before fleeing the scene, according to police officials.
