Delhi Police announced the successful takedown of a fraudulent call centre in the Dwarka Mor area, which was deceiving individuals seeking car insurance online. Key figures in the scam, Nihal Khan, 27, and Deepu, 22, have been arrested.
The operation also saw the detention of ten women, aged 19 to 24, as part of the investigation under section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). A substantial amount of data comprising 1,240 pages of car owner records from Delhi and nearby states was confiscated from the operation.
The breakthrough followed a complaint lodged on October 5 at Burari Police Station. A man alleged he was defrauded of Rs 12,000 for fake car insurance, prompting the police to track call locations and CCTV footage, eventually leading to the arrest of the culprits.
