The Delhi High Court has demanded a status report from the CBI regarding a bail plea by Kapil Wadhawan, former Dewan Housing Finance Ltd promoter, implicated in a massive bank loan scam.

Justice Chandra Dhari Singh has set a 10-day deadline for the CBI to clarify the plea's maintainability, with an upcoming hearing slated for November 7.

Wadhawan, who has been detained for about 600 days, is the sole individual in custody. Disputing the bail plea, the CBI emphasizes the necessity of trial court proceedings, although Wadhawan's attorney insists on the high court's concurrent jurisdiction in the matter.
