A constable in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district has faced suspension following his appearance in a video, where he is seen consuming liquor outside a panchayat office and asserting himself as a police station in-charge, according to an official statement released on Sunday.
The footage, which emerged on social media on Friday, led to the constable's suspension the following day. In the video, Ashok Singh, the constable, can be observed drinking in an open area in front of the janpad panchayat office in Jaisinghnagar town, claiming to hold the position of the local police station in-charge.
Singh, who was assigned security duties at a local court in Jaisinghnagar, 45 km from the district center, has been suspended with immediate effect, as confirmed by Superintendent of Police Kumar Pratik on Saturday.
