Atomic Bomb Survivors Issue Dire Warning on Nuclear Risks

The group of atomic bomb survivors, Nihon Hidankyo, issued warnings on Saturday about the increasing risks of nuclear war, reiterating their call for the abolition of nuclear weapons.
"The international situation is worsening, with wars threatening nuclear escalation," stated Shigemitsu Tanaka, a Nagasaki bombing survivor and co-head of the group. "There's a path to self-destruction; the key is abolishing nuclear," he added.
The Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the survivors highlights their continuous efforts to eradicate nuclear arms, underscoring their critical role in today's precarious global climate. Meanwhile, Russian leader Putin hinted at potential nuclear responses, should Western allies enable deeper strikes into Russian territory.
