In a recent development, the Kerala police announced there was insufficient evidence to take action against actors Sreenath Bhasi and Prayaga Martin in an ongoing narcotics case. This follows the arrest of gangster Om Prakash and his aides in a spectacular police operation at a local luxury hotel.
Kochi City police commissioner, Putta Vimaladitya, addressed the press stating that further statements will be recorded from some of the 20 individuals connected to the case. Despite speculation, no blood samples from the actors were collected, and no additional television figures have been implicated.
The inquiry into possible narcotics abuse was initiated under the NDPS Act, after intelligence on international cocaine trafficking and distribution at local DJ parties led to Prakash's arrest at the Maradu hotel.
