DA Pushes for Review of Ramaphosa's 'Farmgate' Scandal Decision
The Democratic Alliance seeks a prosecutor's decision review on not charging President Ramaphosa over a theft at his game farm, which almost cost him his position due to allegations of money laundering and corruption. The ANC supports Ramaphosa despite the accusations, which the EFF continues to challenge.
The Democratic Alliance (DA), a key coalition partner of the African National Congress (ANC), has called for a review of prosecutors' decision not to charge South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in connection with the 'Farmgate' scandal.
This incident, involving money laundering and corruption allegations, nearly cost the President his job two years ago. Ramaphosa, who denies any wrongdoing, was previously cleared of conflict of interest by the anti-corruption watchdog.
Although the ANC rallied behind Ramaphosa to prevent impeachment, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) continue to seek accountability, now turning to the constitutional court to push for impeachment proceedings.
