In a strategic move to bolster defense ties, Turkey and Serbia have agreed to collaborate on developing their defense industry, focusing prominently on Turkish drones, as stated by President Tayyip Erdogan. The decision, announced alongside Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic, underscores the nations' commitment to sustaining peace through strengthened industrial cooperation.
Turkish drones, particularly Baykar's Bayraktar TB2, have gained international recognition for their significant impact in conflicts across Syria, Libya, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine, leading to export deals with approximately 30 countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Kosovo, and Poland.
Emphasizing the collaborative spirit, Erdogan noted the aim to harmonize resources between Ankara and Belgrade while cautioning against external interference.
