The Delhi District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission has ruled against a travel agency, mandating reimbursement of Rs 3.25 lakh to a senior citizen. The ruling follows the consumer's mental distress caused by the agency's failure to return booking fees for a canceled tour.

The commission, led by President Inder Jeet Singh and member Rashmi Bansal, addressed a complaint from Anjani V Raghavan, who faced significant difficulty when her Scandinavian Midnight Sun package was canceled due to COVID-19, and the travel agency did not issue a refund.

After legal measures and promises of delay allegedly due to financial issues, the complainant received no money back, prompting the commission's decision. Beyond ordering the full refund, the panel imposed a Rs 25,000 compensation for mental harassment and Rs 15,000 litigation costs on the company.
