Israel's Security Chiefs Assess Tensions in Southern Lebanon

In a move signaling heightened tensions, Israel's top military and security leaders carried out a security evaluation in southern Lebanon on Thursday, according to a military announcement on Friday.

Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, in a video released by the military, affirmed Israel's commitment to ongoing operations against adversaries, stressing the importance of sustained safety for evacuees in the north. He warned that any attempts to rebuild terrorist infrastructure would be futile, as Israel Defense Forces (IDF) would act decisively to neutralize such threats.

Ronen Bar, leader of Shin Bet, underscored the need for robust defense strategies, asserting that while peace sees defense on one side, wartime demands protection on both sides of the border with accompanying tactical flexibility.
