In a significant development, Gujarat police have arrested the final suspect in the gang-rape of a teenage girl, a case that has stirred public outrage. The arrest was made at the Sabarmati railway station in Ahmedabad.
Raju Vishwakarma, aged 35, had been evading capture since the alleged incident occurred earlier this month near Mota Borsara village in Surat district. His apprehension marks the culmination of a police operation that began immediately after the crime was reported.
With this arrest, all three accused are now in custody. The case has taken a tragic turn with the death of one of the suspected offenders, Shivshankar Chaurasia, who complained of health issues while detained. The men are charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
