A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of his grandmother in the Wagle Estate area, police authorities confirmed on Thursday.
Identified as Abhi alias Avi Vishnu Chouhan, the accused is said to have committed the crime on October 9 after his grandmother, Dayawati Hariram Chouhan, 77, accused him of taking her pension money. The situation escalated into a confrontation with his sister.
During the altercation, Chouhan reportedly attacked his grandmother with a stone grinder, leading to her death. Police have charged him under section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, with further investigations underway.
