Italy has formally protested to Israel following incidents where Israeli forces fired at positions used by U.N. peacekeepers in Lebanon, according to Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto.
Crosetto denounced the firing as "totally unacceptable," asserting that it constitutes a clear violation of international law.
The U.N. force reported that Israeli forces targeted two peacekeeper positions on Thursday and a third on Wednesday, resulting in injuries to two peacekeepers.
