Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh, who oversees several key portfolios including Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and the Department of Space, chaired a high-level joint meeting today with senior officials from all Science Ministries and Departments. The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing projects, budget utilization, and strategies to boost synergy and coordination across departments.

Dr. Singh stressed the importance of breaking down silos between departments such as the Department of Biotechnology, ISRO, CSIR/DSIR, Ministry of Earth Sciences, and Department of Atomic Energy to ensure timely and effective use of budgetary resources. He urged the officials to accelerate the progress of critical projects, many of which were announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during previous budget sessions.

In particular, the meeting highlighted the status of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), a key research initiative. Dr. Singh also emphasized the role of transparency and public engagement, calling for a stronger presence on social media platforms to showcase India’s scientific achievements and engage younger generations.

Dr. Singh's emphasis on accountability, efficiency, and outreach reflects the government’s commitment to advancing India’s scientific and technological progress. He called for the fast-tracking of key projects listed on the PRAGATI platform, a government initiative that monitors and ensures timely project implementation.

The Minister also outlined the importance of developing a sustainable ecosystem that integrates public-private partnerships (PPP), pooling of resources, and collaboration with non-governmental sectors. He encouraged early industry linkages to multiply the benefits of scientific initiatives, ensuring that such projects reach scale and impact the wider population.

Additionally, the meeting focused on the development of a "One Common Portal" to serve as a unified platform for all scientific research across departments. Dr. Singh reviewed its current status and provided guidance for its enhancement, ensuring that it becomes a single nodal point for scientific collaboration and research coordination.

This meeting is part of Dr. Singh’s ongoing efforts to drive India's scientific advancement through collaborative leadership and efficient resource management.
