The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched a significant operation at the Chennai home of Faizul Rahman, a key suspect linked to advocating secessionism through the Hizb-ut-Tahrir ideology, officials revealed on Thursday.
Faizul Rahman's arrest on Tuesday followed an NIA probe into the group's alleged conspiracy. Concurrently, the government has declared a ban on Hizb-ut-Tahrir, citing its agenda to establish an Islamic caliphate globally through violent jihad.
Searches at Rahman's home uncovered incriminating materials including digital devices and documents. Authorities allege Rahman aimed to collaborate with Pakistan for support in liberating Kashmir, as part of broader plans to override India's sovereignty with a divisive ideology.
