Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, called upon the youth of India to become cultural ambassadors and protectors of the nation's rich traditions and values at the Viksit Bharat Ambassador Yuva Connect program, held at DY Patil Deemed University in Navi Mumbai.

Speaking to a gathering of students and young achievers, Shri Shekhawat emphasized India's growing appeal to global tourists and urged the youth to showcase and preserve the country's heritage. He positioned the younger generation as key drivers in shaping a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047, linking the mission to the aspirations of India's freedom fighters.

Shri Shekhawat commended the government's transformative efforts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, citing policies focused on inclusivity, infrastructure growth, and digitization. Programs like "Banking the Unbanked," "Funding the Unfunded," and "One Nation One Market" for agricultural produce were highlighted as catalysts for change, benefiting millions of citizens over the past decade.

The Minister also noted India’s rise as the third-largest economy in the world, attributing much of the progress to the contributions of the country's youth. The government’s ‘Reform, Perform, Transform’ agenda was credited with bringing about significant advancements in sectors such as digitization, defense, and public health, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reflecting on India’s push for self-sufficiency, or ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, Shri Shekhawat pointed to advancements in defense manufacturing, including export of Tejas aircraft to various countries, as examples of India’s growing global stature. He also underscored the importance of adhering to the country's traditional values while striving for innovation and growth.

The event also featured interactions between Shri Shekhawat and student achievers. The Minister was joined by Dr. Vijay D. Patil, Chancellor of DY Patil University, Dr. Shivani V. Patil, Pro Vice Chancellor, Smt. Vandana Mishra, Vice Chancellor, and Shri Prakash Kumar Manure, NYKS Director for Maharashtra and Goa.

Shri Shekhawat’s message resonated with the youth in attendance, inspiring them to take an active role in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat while remaining rooted in India’s cultural and historical legacy.
