BJP president JP Nadda launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, accusing it of fostering a "threat culture and jungle raj" in West Bengal. His comments came in the aftermath of a tragic incident involving the rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar hospital.

Addressing intellectuals at a city hotel, Nadda criticized the state government's inability to protect its citizens, particularly women, citing the unsafe work environment for healthcare professionals. He called for the West Bengal administration to adhere to advisories issued by the central government, aimed at bolstering safety in medical colleges and hospitals.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has urged institutions to implement robust safety policies. Nadda voiced support for junior doctors in Kolkata, who have been protesting for a safer work environment after the heinous crime, demanding accountability and reform from the state government.
