The Delhi High Court has rejected a plea to halt the demolition of a religious site said to have been illicitly established on public property managed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
The petitioner, Avinesh Kumar, appealed against a lower court order that declined to stop the temple's demolition, claimed to have been in place for 60 years at Shiv Park, Kondli Sabji Mandi.
Justice Tara V Ganju ruled that Kumar had no legitimate claim to the land, affirming the DDA's move to eliminate the unlawful occupation of the approximately 200-square-metre area in the public park.
