Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud stressed the necessity for judicial decisions to remain free from the constraints of popular morality. He was speaking at the Bhutan Distinguished Speakers' Forum about 'Judicial legitimacy through accessibility, transparency and technology: the Indian experience'.

Addressing the importance of public trust in judicial institutions, the CJI conveyed that the credibility and institutional trust courts enjoy are foundational to a thriving constitutional order.
