KAP Sinha Takes Charge as Punjab's New Chief Secretary

KAP Sinha, a senior IAS officer, took over the role of chief secretary of Punjab on Thursday, as confirmed by the AAP government. He stepped into the position following Anurag Verma, a 1993-batch IAS officer, who previously held the post.
A 1992-batch officer, Sinha will also serve as the principal secretary for vigilance, general administration, and personnel. In his inaugural remarks, Sinha emphasized the AAP government's commitment to implementing welfare schemes more vigorously.
Sinha brings a wealth of experience to this role, having held various significant positions in Punjab covering revenue, agriculture, and disaster management, as well as serving in key capacities within the central government, including the ministries of external affairs and industries.
