Deadly Negligence: Workers Succumb to Poisonous Gas in Delhi Sewer

In a tragic incident that highlights severe negligence, two workers lost their lives and another remains critically ill after inhaling poisonous gas at a construction site in Sarojini Nagar, southwest Delhi. The workers, who went inside a disused sewer tank for cleaning, reportedly lacked proper safety gear.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Surendra Choudhary reported that the incident occurred at the NBCC construction site near Metro gate number 2 on Tuesday afternoon. Efforts to rescue the unconscious workers were unsuccessful, resulting in two fatalities. The third worker is currently receiving treatment at Safdarjung hospital.
Families and fellow workers have accused the construction company of negligence, citing a lack of safety equipment. Police are conducting investigations and have questioned the contractor and site supervisor. The victims' families demand accountability as they endure the aftermath of the preventable tragedy.
