A significant seizure of illegal firecrackers and explosives was made from a local warehouse in Manoori Bazaar, according to police sources. The raid, which took place ahead of Diwali, led to the arrest of warehouse owner Naushad Ali, who was found without the required licenses for manufacturing or storing such materials.

Police acted on an anonymous tip-off and raided the warehouse situating it behind the Public Inter College. The operation resulted in the confiscation of four sacks of gunpowder, 20 sacks of coal, and 35 sacks filled with produced and semi-produced firecrackers. Legal proceedings under the Explosives Act have been initiated, with further actions being pursued.

These developments come amid heightened police scrutiny following deadly explosions in illegal firecracker-making units in Gonda and Bareilly earlier this month. Six fatalities were reported in Bareilly, prompting intensified enforcement across Uttar Pradesh.
