Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge emphasized that the recent Haryana election results will not impact the state's commitment to conducting its caste census. He reiterated the Congress government's dedication to the survey, which plays a crucial role in devising better policies and governance.
Scheduled for discussion on October 18, the caste census, based on a 2014-15 survey, remains a priority for Karnataka. Despite the BJP's third consecutive win in Haryana, Kharge stressed that these results do not influence Karnataka's policy agenda, which remains focused and independent.
Kharge also addressed concerns over alleged inconsistencies within political leaderships, highlighting ongoing legal cases against BJP officials. He urged the opposition to prioritize internal accountability before questioning Congress' governance, ensuring a transparent approach in addressing public issues.
