The overseas commander of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards is set to receive a prestigious accolade from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This confirmation follows recent concerns over his safety amid escalating clashes involving Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon.
Esmail Qaani, the Quds Force Commander, reportedly ventured to Lebanon following the assassination of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. Rumors of his wellbeing circulated after intensified military action in south Beirut. However, senior adviser Ebrahim Jabbari assures that Commander Qaani remains unharmed and is in perfect health.
Appointed in place of the assassinated Qassem Soleimani, Qaani has been actively involved in defending Iran's interests abroad. Iran continues to commemorate its military leaders and influential political figures by awarding the Fath medal, a recognition rooted deeply in the country's history since the Iran-Iraq war.
