KAP Sinha Appointed as Punjab's New Chief Secretary

KAP Sinha, a 1992-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new chief secretary of Punjab, replacing Anurag Verma, a 1993-batch IAS officer. Previously, Sinha served as special chief secretary in various departments, while Verma will continue in similar roles as additional chief secretary.

The Punjab government has made a significant administrative change by appointing senior IAS officer KAP Sinha as the new chief secretary. This decision, announced through an official order on Wednesday, sees Sinha replacing Anurag Verma.

Sinha, hailing from the 1992 batch of the Punjab cadre, brings extensive experience to his new role. Prior to this appointment, he managed key departments, including revenue, rehabilitation, disaster management, agriculture and farmers' welfare, horticulture, along with soil and water conservation.

Anurag Verma, a 1993 batch IAS officer, who held the chief secretary position since July 1, 2023, will now oversee the same departments as the additional chief secretary, maintaining continuity in leadership.
