Ukrainian Strike Sparks Emergency in Russia's Bryansk Region
A state of emergency was declared in Russia's Bryansk region after Ukraine's military claimed to have struck a weapons depot. The depot allegedly housed ammunition from North Korea, despite Russia's denial of such transfers. The local Emergencies Ministry stated the situation is under control.
A state of emergency has been declared in a western Russian region following a reported overnight strike by Ukraine on a weapons arsenal, authorities said on Wednesday.
According to Ukraine's military, the target was an ammunition storehouse containing missiles and artillery, including those allegedly delivered from North Korea. Both Russia and North Korea have dismissed claims of weapons exchanges, although they have expressed intentions to strengthen military relations.
The Bryansk branch of the Ministry of Emergencies reported that the situation is now under control, though there was no mention of a weapons depot incident. Bryansk's Governor, Alexander Bogomaz, announced on Telegram that Russian air defenses intercepted 24 drones in the area overnight.
