The Odisha government has introduced 'Gramodaya,' a new scheme aimed at ensuring welfare programs effectively reach residents in Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected districts, according to an official.
The initiative encompasses 583 villages across ten districts, as announced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi after a meeting of LWE-affected states, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.
The plan focuses on departmental convergence for development in LWE areas, supported by a monitoring committee, without a special budget allocation. A new LWE dashboard and grassroots engagement will aid implementation.
