Zelenskiy Emphasizes Swift Missile Development Amid Ongoing Conflict

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy emphasized on Tuesday the urgent need for Ukraine to secure and deploy advanced missiles for swift results against Russian forces. In his nightly address, Zelenskiy highlighted discussions with top military commanders on enhancing domestic weapons supply amid the over 2-1/2 years of conflict.

Zelenskiy noted the focus on drones, electronic warfare, and particularly, the deployment of missiles to achieve quick battlefield gains. "Our national missile program is key, ensuring more combat successes both at the front and within Russian territory," he stated.

Calling for faster results, Zelenskiy reiterated Ukraine's appeals to Western allies, especially the U.S., for long-range missile support since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022. The domestic arms industry's rapid development is essential, with a significant emphasis on drones and missile advancements, including a forthcoming announcement of new missile developments by the Defense Ministry.
