Tensions Escalate: Protest Against Controversial Priest Yati Narsinghanand Sparks Legal Action

In Ghaziabad, tensions flared as members of the Muslim community staged a demonstration against the controversial priest, Yati Narsinghanand. The protest, occurring on Tuesday, resulted in the blockage of a service lane linking Delhi to Ghaziabad, prompting swift police action.

Law enforcement officials have filed charges against 11 identified individuals and 60 unnamed persons under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. This measure was enforced following attempts by protesters to cross from Delhi into Ghaziabad without the requisite permissions amid existing prohibitory orders.

The protestors voiced strong disapproval of Narsinghanand's derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad, made on September 29th. Meanwhile, WPC chairman Haji Shakeel Saifi submitted a memorandum to ACP Indirapuram Swatantra Kumar Singh, demanding accountability. Narsinghanand faces multiple FIRs and growing backlash from Muslim groups due to his comments.
