The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Madhya Pradesh made a significant breakthrough in their ongoing efforts to curb arms smuggling by seizing two pistols, 200 gun barrels, and various firearm parts in Indore. A 33-year-old man, linked to an inter-state arms smuggling group, has been arrested.
According to police, firearms components were brought into Indore from Surat, with the arrested individual identified as Nepal Singh. Authorities continue to pursue those involved in couriering and logistics within the illegal gun trade network.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged under the Arms Act in Bhopal. Investigations reveal that the Sikligars, traditional arms makers in the regions of Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, and Burhanpur, are implicated in procuring and selling high-quality gun components. Earlier in March, the ATS raided a clandestine arms factory in Khargone, seizing over 800 barrels and arresting four suspects associated with this network.
