A 26-year-old man was allegedly kidnapped from Jaunpur district and found near a pond in Suriyawan, where he died after allegedly being assaulted and poisoned, police reported.
The young man, identified as Vivek Yadav, was discovered sitting disoriented by a pond in Birampur village before collapsing. Despite appearing injured, he was still alive but unable to communicate, presumably due to poison consumption, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Tej Veer Singh.
Police noted no visible injuries on Yadav's body. Filed as a kidnapping case, the investigation continues with pending autopsy results, following his disappearance reportedly linked to a dispute and naming two suspects by his father.
