In a grim turn of events in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district, Bhola Ahirwar, wanted for the murder of a 17-year-old rape survivor's grandfather, reportedly shot himself during a police encounter on Tuesday. The incident unfolded following a dramatic sequence of events that left local communities in shock.

The day before the confrontation, Ahirwar allegedly stormed into the survivor's home in Mohara village, killing her grandfather and injuring her and her uncle in the attack. Police set up search teams to apprehend Ahirwar, acting on a lead that placed him in the Siddh Baba Pahadi area.

As events escalated, police tracked Ahirwar down to a hillock, where he opened fire on the officers. In retaliation, police fired back. Faced with imminent capture, Ahirwar purportedly took his own life with his firearm. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances, including claims by Ahirwar that he was wrongfully implicated in the rape case, as expressed in a Facebook post made shortly before his death.
