The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued a directive to the police commissioner of Gautam Buddha Nagar in India's National Capital Region. The directive demands the prompt consideration of a complaint about alleged commercial activities disguised as a Durga Puja festival in a designated 'green area'.

The complaint, filed by Panesh Kumar Sinha, a resident of Noida's Sector 128, argues that the public park, considered essential to the area's environment, is being misused by a private organization for commercial purposes under the pretext of Durga Puja celebrations.

Despite the complaint being lodged with Noida Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh and the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, no action has been taken so far. The NGT has instructed the police commissioner to evaluate the complaint and take necessary actions swiftly and in accordance with the law.
