On Tuesday, Sonam Wangchuk, a prominent climate activist, persisted with his indefinite hunger strike at Delhi's Ladakh Bhawan. Alongside supporters, he urged the central government to resume talks on their pressing demands.
Wangchuk has been leading the call for Ladakh to gain Sixth Schedule status, having begun his hunger strike on Sunday. The lack of engagement from government representatives has been notable, according to the protestors.
Despite facing health challenges in the harsh climate, Wangchuk and his group, who are advocating for statehood and representation for Ladakh, remain firm in their demands for a meeting with Prime Minister Modi to discuss their inclusion in the Constitution.
