Commissioner Dayananda highlighted that the city maintains a zero tolerance policy towards drug peddling, transportation, and possession. In September alone, 40 cases were detected under the NDPS Act, leading to significant arrests, with ongoing efforts to seize contraband and prosecute those involved.
Among the items seized were 170 kg of ganja, two kg of opium, 13 grams of cocaine, 372 grams of MDMA, and 998 Ecstasy tablets. The police are investigating supply sources, including one linked to Tamil Nadu, and have deported approximately 80 foreigners involved in drug offenses this year.
