A Russian military strike on Kharkiv, located in northeastern Ukraine, injured at least 11 people on Tuesday, including a child, according to regional officials.
Governor Oleh Syniehubov announced on the Telegram messaging app that the assault damaged local infrastructure, and efforts are currently underway to identify the weaponry utilized. Both Syniehubov and Kharkiv's Mayor Ihor Terekhov suggested that the target might have been a civilian production facility, noting a resulting fire.
Lying merely 30 kilometers from the Russian border, Kharkiv has been frequently assaulted since Russia's full-scale invasion commenced in February 2022. Just last week, a Russian guided bomb hit a five-storey apartment building in the city, injuring ten, as per local officials.
