Singapore and South Korea Forge Strategic Partnership for 50th Diplomatic Anniversary
South Korea and Singapore have agreed to strengthen their partnership as they mark 50 years of diplomatic ties. This includes an extradition treaty, cooperation in multiple sectors such as AI, defense, and climate change, and strengthening LNG supply chain stability. Additional agreements cover technology and food safety.

Singapore and South Korea are set to elevate their diplomatic relations into a strategic partnership next year, in celebration of 50 years since they first established ties, announced Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Tuesday.
The partnership will see the nations signing an extradition treaty and intensifying cooperation in sectors ranging from artificial intelligence to defense and climate change. The upgrade of their free trade pact aims to yield more robust cooperation, Wong emphasized during a press conference alongside South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is on a state visit.
A significant highlight of their agreement is the collaboration in LNG supplies, ensuring stability in the international supply chain. Joint efforts will extend into areas such as LNG swaps and tackling supply chain crises. Furthermore, both countries have signed agreements on supply chains, technology, and food safety.
