A Bangladeshi smuggler was killed in a face-off with Indian border forces in Tripura, as reported by officials. The incident occurred when 12 to 15 individuals attempted to infiltrate the border area, armed with sharp weapons and contraband.
According to sources, BSF personnel spotted the group and intervened. In the ensuing scuffle, one BSF jawan suffered injuries, including cuts on his left arm and bruises on his neck, as the smugglers encircled him. The situation escalated when the jawan fired two rounds from his service weapon, leading most infiltrators to flee back to Bangladesh.
Upon area inspection, authorities found a dead Bangladeshi smuggler. The jawan involved is currently receiving medical treatment. This event underscores the ongoing challenges and tensions faced by BSF personnel at the India-Bangladesh border.
