The Kalkaji Temple authority has issued urgent directives following a tragic incident where a 17-year-old boy was electrocuted, sparking a stampede that injured six individuals. The temple has called for immediate checks of all electrical points to prevent future mishaps.

This incident occurred as devotees thronged to the temple during Navratri. An authority member blamed faulty wiring, explaining that a youth attempting to climb a railing inadvertently triggered the current flow by using an electric wire for support. When the teenage boy, who was waiting in line, touched the compromised railing, he was fatally electrocuted.

In response, the temple has implemented measures including crowd control, allowing only 50 people at a time, and deploying over 500 volunteers. Security has been bolstered with 1,000 CCTV cameras. Meanwhile, a police investigation is underway to address allegations of negligence under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
