The Supreme Court has constituted an independent Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe allegations regarding the use of animal fat in the preparation of Tirupati laddus, causing political ripples across Andhra Pradesh.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, chief of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), criticized Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly spreading false information and attempting to use religious sentiments for political advantage. Reddy urged Naidu to apologize and ascertain the truth following the court's admonitions.
With the SIT comprising members from the CBI, Andhra Pradesh Police, and a senior FSSAI official, the investigation is expected to unveil the facts behind the controversy. The probe will be supervised by the CBI Director as tensions rise over the allegations linked to temple offerings.
