In a significant operation, security personnel neutralized seven Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region on Friday, according to a senior police official.
The encounter unfolded around 1 PM in the dense Abhujmaad forest, located along the Narayanpur-Dantewada inter-district border. It occurred during an ongoing anti-Naxal operation conducted by a joint team of security forces.
Following the exchange of gunfire, authorities recovered the bodies of seven Naxalites, alongside an arsenal featuring an AK-47 rifle and an SLR (self-loading rifle). A search operation continues in the area. This marks the 164th Maoist fatality in the Bastar region this year, the police said.
