Israeli Strike Disrupts Key Lebanon-Syria Border Route
An Israeli military strike near the Lebanon-Syria border on Friday severed a crucial escape route for people fleeing Israeli bombardments. The attack, which hit Lebanese territory, created a significant crater and was linked to Hezbollah's alleged weapons smuggling into Lebanon, according to the Israeli military.
An Israeli military strike on Friday disrupted a key border route used by scores of people escaping conflict. This attack targeted an area near Lebanon's Masnaa border crossing with Syria, creating a large crater, and effectively cutting off the road, confirmed Lebanon's Transport Minister, Ali Hamieh.
The Israeli Defence Forces accused Hezbollah of using the crossing for smuggling military equipment into Lebanon. 'The IDF will not allow the smuggling of these weapons and will not hesitate to act,' stated IDF spokesman Avichay Adraee.
Lebanese authorities report over 300,000 individuals, mainly Syrians, used this route to flee intensifying Israeli bombardment as conflict persists in the region.
